Don brings a rare combination of frontline emergency management experience and executive technology leadership to CounterCrisis Tech. As a former smokejumper, emergency management practitioner, and consultant, and as a high-tech CEO, he understands the real-world challenges agencies face—on the tactical edge as well as at the operational and strategic levels. Don’s expertise spans multi-agency planning and training, emergency response, and the deployment of advanced technologies to strengthen organizational readiness and end-to-end emergency management. He specializes in building diverse teams and innovative solutions to solve high-complexity incident management technology challenges.
As a Co-Founder of two software firms pioneering innovative solutions for emergency management, Melanie has direct experience in bootstrapping, building, and scaling companies. She has over 25 years of leadership experience across multiple sectors and has executive expertise in cultivating innovation and teams across marketing, design, business development, R&D, operations, and program management. She currently serves as Director, Marketing + Design Services for a professional services firm in Ottawa.
With over a decade of technical leadership in the Canadian public sector, Ivan brings deep expertise in advancing technology solutions that serve communities. His passion for public safety drives innovative approaches to GIS mapping, spatial analytics, integration optimization, and cloud infrastructure deployment. Ivan champions technology that enhances emergency response capabilities and citizen services.
